The Rage Against the Machine (aka Rage or RATM) is a rock band and rapcore.
Were one of the most influential and controversial bands of the 1990s.
A strong feature of RATM is a mix of hip-hop, rock, funk, punk and heavy metal, with strong lyrics and politicized. Along with the music of protest, showed the struggle for political cause, against censorship, for freedom and for the less fortunate.
The sound of the group is quite different due to the rhythmic and vocal style of Zack de la Rocha and Tom Morello of unique techniques on guitar.
Soon after the band finished in 2000 the three members (Tom Morello, Tim Commerford and Brad Wilk) joined ex-vocalist Chris Cornell of soundgarden and launched 3 albums with the band Audioslave. In 2007, the original members, after initially announcing the return to a single concert at the Coachella festival, decided to organize a tour that will extend to several countries, including Portugal
